On 25 September 2025, HKUST hosted the CAST–Hong Kong Innovation & Technology Roundtable. Mr. HE Junke, Executive Secretary of the leading Party members group, Executive President and Chief Executive Secretary of the Secretariat of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), led a delegation to meet the leaders of Hong Kong’s six universities and major R&D organizations.
Together they reviewed Hong Kong’s scientific research strengths, mapped its integration into the national development agenda, defined the city’s distinctive role in global science and innovation, and explored complementary, deep-tier collaboration. The dialogue marked a joint commitment to move bilateral interaction from exchange to co-construction.
Following the meeting, the CAST delegation toured the State Key Laboratory of Displays & Opto-Electronics (SKLDOE) and the Aerodynamics and Acoustics Facility (AAF), where they discussed future development paths for Hong Kong–Mainland S&T.
