From July 20 to 27, 2024, a delegation of faculty and students from the Division of Public Policy at HKUST went on an eight-day study tour of the Yangtze River Delta region. The tour group examined in-depth research and analysis across sectors, including innovation and entrepreneurship, the digital economy, cross-border big data management, robotics, microelectronics, and new energy industries.
Delegates also explored areas of cooperation in science and technology innovation between Hong Kong and the Yangtze River Delta region. During the tour, they visited the Wuxi Economic Development Zone and Wuxi High-Tech Zone, universities including Southeast University Wuxi Campus and Jiangnan University, and the Shanghai Pudong CPPCC Committee as well as multiple leading high-tech enterprises in the region. Throughout the trip, faculty and students held in-depth meetings with local government officials and experts.
