The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has recently established strategic partnership with The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University (FAH-SYSU), Southern Medical University (SMU), and Guangzhou Medical University (GMU) respectively. These individual partners will engage in in-depth collaboration with HKUST on areas such as clinical education, talent cultivation, medical research, and translation of innovations, injecting new impetus into the advancement of medical education and healthcare services. The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government, following their partnership to establish HKUST(Guangzhou), have signed a comprehensive strategic agreement today. This agreement will facilitate in-depth collaboration in three key areas:  industry-academia-research integration, life sciences research and medical innovation, and training of innovative talents. The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) celebrates the opening of the HKUST Shanghai Center today at the Shanghai AI Tower in the West Bund of the Xuhui District in collaboration with the District’s Government, and the Caohejing Hi-Tech Park Development Corporation. Leveraging its strengths in chips, artificial intelligence and biomedicine, the Center is set to enhance collaboration on innovation and entrepreneurship between Hong Kong and Shanghai. Read more

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) announced today its appointment by the China National Space Administration (CNSA) to spearhead an international collaboration project for the Chang'E 8 mission. By uniting global aerospace experts, the HKUST-led team is set to produce a multi-functional lunar surface operation robot capable of dexterous operations with a mobile charging station that promises to make significant contributions to the nation’s lunar exploration initiatives. From July 20 to 27, 2024, a delegation of faculty and students from the Division of Public Policy at HKUST went on an eight-day study tour of the Yangtze River Delta region. The tour group examined in-depth research and analysis across sectors, including innovation and entrepreneurship, the digital economy, cross-border big data management, robotics, microelectronics, and new energy industries.  Read more

On September 21, 2023, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) sent the largest university student volunteer team in Hong Kong to serve at the Hangzhou Asian Games. This mission was coordinated by the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (LOCPG), with assistance from HKUST's Office of Mainland Affairs and Dean of Students’ Office.  Read more

In May 2023, Mao Jie, Director of the Henan Provincial Department of Education, led a delegation on a visit to HKUST and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Exchange and Cooperation. This was followed by the opening ceremony for the Henan-Hong Kong Partners, Youth Pioneers 2023 HKUST Summer Camp in Henan at Henan University of Technology on August 1, 2023. Representatives from the University and the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Provincial Education Department attended the opening ceremony. Read more
